Snacks on Snacks on Snacks
For this week’s blogs, I’ve decided to focus my attention on what really matters. Food, of course! Ever since exiting the country this past week, I’ve been able to reflect on how much American snack food has its grasp on me. Not that Jamaican plantain chips aren’t good and all, it’s just after the 15th bag or so, it tends to get a little repetitive. While my other friends darted to the Whole Foods or Trader Joes, I booked my ass to the Teeter (otherwise known as Harris Teeter, for those less cultured). The Teeter’s snack isle is what I consider my own personal heaven, and sometimes the cheese isle when I need my Baby Bell fix. Not that any of my readers would care about the basket of snacks I chose to leave that night with, but to me, it means everything. It’s those snacks I chose to cuddle up with in lieu of a man. It’s those snacks that I budget in those extra pounds on the scale. It’s those snacks that I pencil in my day around.
This is my go-to grocery list on the days I need to feel like a fat lard the most. So if any of you are half as passionate about junk food as me, take notes:
- Jalapeño Cheddar Cheetos
- Lays Salt and Vinegar Chips
- White Cheddar Smart Food Popcorn
- Cosmic Brownies
- Fruit Roll Ups
- Cheez-Its
- Gushers
- Chex mix
- Sour Brite crawlers
- Bagel bites
- Airhead Extremes
